I love creating nourishing bowls for mommas that are equally easy to assemble, nourishing and delicious. I think we all fall into eating the same things over and over again. But there is such beauty in trying new healing ingredients. I will share that some of the ingredients I use often are cooling (during postpartum we want warming foods to support healing) and I will do that in a way to warm them up. That might be warming the temp of cool ingredients and or using warming spices and oils.
Here are some of my favorite ingredients right now and the nourishing benefits. I hope this brings you inspiration as well ⬇️
🌾Plantains - potassium & delicious
🌾Sauerkraut - digestion & salty tangy
🌾Sautéed Spinach - iron & balancing
🌾Turnip - fiber & cooling (warming is most important during postpartum but cooling can be helpful here and there when we are in a hot climate)
🌾Raw Goat Cheese - fats & delightful (see note above about cooling)
🌾Coconut Amino Marinated Chicken - protein & savory
