🧺🍜🏡❄️🕯️the coziest winter post birth inspiration ⬇️

Hello friends,

As we flow into a new season that surrounds us with cooler temperatures and shorter days, I find it to be the coziest for postpartum. If you are preparing to support a postpartum momma during these winter months, this post is for you!

These are a few of my favorite tips ⬇️

❄️send a thoughtful handmade gift in the mail that’s just for momma

🕯️There is nothing like knowing a special package is coming in the mail. Especially when it is during a celebratory time that is often overlooked as just for momma as for baby. With so many baby gifts being sent and dropped off, a gift just for momma can be so special and needed. I love making handmade items that show love and intention. Simple gifts like a candle, soap, mug or a knitted scarf can be found at boutiques that handmade items. Or simply send over something you specialize in - do you love to make homemade cookies? Perfect!

❄️for 1 week make an extra batch of your dinner and leave it at the doorstep

🕯️When we think of meal trains, it can be easy to get overwhelmed. I love keeping it easy by prepping one additional batch of whatever I am making for dinner. Then simply freeze or drop off warm to a postpartum momma in need. If you double your recipe every day, you will have seven meals by the end of the week!

❄️Only visit 15-20 minutes, keep it positive and helpful

🕯️Ask your momma friend before you visit and share what you will do - light laundry, drop off a meal, hold baby while she showers are great places to start. And simply put an alarm on your phone for the shortest and sweetest visit. If you notice she wants you to stay longer, then do! But always visit with the intent to help encourage, lift and support. When conversations become more about you, lean back into more about her and baby. Also know when it is time for her to rest and take your leave.

❄️Create a basket of cozy items like fluffy socks + warming blankets

🕯️Often times sharing items that have given us joy during our postpartum journey can add even more special touches to a gift. I love making a basket specifically for items that will encourage more stillness and rest. Add in a heating pad, hot water bottle, tea tumbler and some silk pajamas for even more cozy.

Feel free to reach out to me if you need additional support - postpartum doulas are trained and passionate about supporting mothers through their journey of healing no matter the season they are in.
