How to Thrive 1-3 Days Postpartum

Hello friends,

I support my momma clients daily as they prepare for thriving during postpartum. I am often asked what to do for the first 1-3 days post birth and I always keep it super simple.

These are a few of my favorite tips ⬇️

🤱🏼Snuggle with your baby without distraction

💗Worrying about texting every family member and checking your social media for likes on that cute newborn pic can be super fun. But this newborn bubble is absolutely the most sacred and fleeting moment. Crave out time or possibly the entire 3 days to just be in your bubble with your baby. Snuggle, look into their eyes and give them lots of kisses.

🤱🏼Ask to be wrapped with a bengkung belly binder

💗I love to prepare families way before postpartum to know how to use my cotton belly binders. Wrapping immediately (when appropriate) can be the coziest and helpful thing for your healing. Benefits to belly binding? Structurally supportive, calming and pelvic floor support.

🤱🏽Wear cotton pajama dresses for ease

💗The easiest way to feel comfortable is to wear a breathable cotton pj dress. I love belly binding mommas underneath too! You can easily feed your baby, do skin on skin and use the bathroom without having to take off layers.

🤱🏽Eat when baby eats, small nutrient dense meals

💗So often we are all wrapped up in our baby’s needs and it turns out to be hours since we last ate. I always love to say eat when baby eats - meaning when your baby is feeding, that is time to either snack before, during or after. This helps mommas remember when they last ate too.
