In Your Postpartum Wellness Era

Hello friends,

I am so happy you are preparing for your postpartum wellness era! Often times mommas focus so much on the birth that postpartum isn’t prepared for. If you are feeling overwhelmed, I created some tips to help support your preparation journey.

These are a few of my favorite tips ⬇️

🤱🏼Choose sleep over doing anything else

🍂It is so easy to get into projects or finally just take a shower when baby is asleep. If you do have a moment to put baby down, all the temptations start to pop up - should I do dishes? Should I start a load of laundry? Instead of doing anything during this time, why not choose rest if you can? Taking a moment to even close your eyes can center your mind and heart.

🤱🏼Switch to sesame oil to warm the body

🍂I love showing mommas this simple switch can make all the difference. The body craves warmth during postpartum and a warming oil like sesame is grounding. Simply swap out any types of moisturizers or lotions for organic sesame oil.

🤱🏽Understand the body’s unique healing timeline

🍂Giving your body time to heal is absolutely necessary. Push aside any beliefs you have absorbed about “bouncing back” and think more of slow and steady movement. Eat well, sleep well and be slow - these are the essentials to support your body’s unique timeline. Healing often looks like 9 months - 2 years for complete recovery.

🤱🏽Ask friends and family to drop off nutrient dense meals

🍂Nourishing nutrient dense meals are not always what family and friends think of when they are bringing meals over. I love educating family by sharing my postpartum guide and cookbook. Family and friends always means well but every generation sees healing as different. Why not share with them what will nourish your body the most? If family and friends are not local, I love ordering from a postpartum meal delivery service.

🤱🏼Buys the breathable linen bedsheets

🍂After birth you will experience body temperature changes and sweat. The body often sweats the most during the nighttime. I love sharing a simple tip to allowing your body to breathe - natural fabrics. Linen and cotton are my favorite breathable materials for bedsheets. Natural fabrics allow heat to escape and they do not create additional moisture. They are temperature regulating and that is always an essential during postpartum.

🤱🏼Bengkung binds a tender belly every day

🍂Learning how to belly bind before birth will empower you with a very healing tool during postpartum. Not only are belly binders supportive of the hips, back and belly but they are also supportive of the mind and heart. Slowly binding yourself every single day allows for the mind to connect to body.
