3 Reasons Why I Love Belly Binding After Birth 🧺 ⬇️

Belly binding will always be my method of healing after birth. It provides so many benefits for the physical body but more importantly for the mind and heart. 💗 I love watching an anxious momma melt into a pool of restfulness and baby bliss once belly binded. My preferred method will always be the Bengkung traditional bind but please find a method you love the most!
🌼My 3 favorite reasons why to belly bind after birth ⬇️
🌼Physical Support- belly binding can offer physical support like compression from your hips, back, lower and upper belly. When done appropriately, binding can lift the pressure of the belly off the pelvic floor. While binding doesn’t take the place of pelvic floor therapy, it can be supportive (literally) until you see a therapist after six weeks.
🌼Emotional Support- belly binding can support you by offering a weighted blanket effect. Which can in a sense ground your body to encourage more rest. After birth we often become flighty in our minds, wanting to stay alert and aware of what our baby needs and to all the new life changes. But this is the time to rest. The binder acts like an anchor for your mind. It’s time to rest.
🌼Additional Support- belly binding is the best small way to offer independent care for your body during postpartum. I love others to care for you during postpartum but sometimes we can feel lost in not having any routines or forms of self care. Our routines and rituals makes you feel like you. Belly binding can be a small way to weave in a little bit of self care during a tender time.
